Dr. Aiden Barrett is a Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in orthopedics, sports and overhead throwing injuries, shoulder, spine, post-surgical rehabilitation, balance & falls. He loves helping patients to maximize their quality of life by optimizing their movement so they can return to the activities they love. This passion led him to start his career as a Certified Athletic Trainer, working with NCAA Division 1 Hockey, Baseball and Softball teams, keeping their athletes healthy on the field and participating at peak performance.
In his free time, Aiden loves to golf, snowboard and hike across the Northeast. You can also catch Aiden cheering on his favorite new England sports teams, especially the Patriots, Red Sox, and Celtics.


Dr. Alison Guliano is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy who specializes in orthopedics, the spine, and sports-related injuries. After sustaining multiple sports injuries, Alison was inspired to give back to her community by helping others get back to the activities they love most. She is passionate about creating personalized plans to help her patients reach their movement goals. Throughout her career, she has gained certification in trigger point dry needling and has completed the Highbar Orthopedic Residency program.
In her free time, Alison enjoys exploring all the state parks in Rhode Island, going to farmer’s markets, and spending time outside. As a former soccer and softball player, she likes to stay active by hiking and skiing. You can usually catch her watching the Red Sox, Boston Bruins, and USWNT soccer games.

Dr. Calin butler is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who specializes in orthopedics, sports injuries, vestibular rehabilitation, and treating conditions related to the spine, shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles. He earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Sacred Heart University in 2023 and is certified in Dry Needling, Titleist Performance Institute, and AQuire IASTM. Calin is driven by a passion for helping individuals overcome obstacles, regain their strength, and achieve their goals, with a focus on enabling them to return to the activities they love, pain-free and stronger.
Outside of his clinical work, he serves as the Boys Director and Coach for Blast Volleyball in Rhode Island and also coaches boys' volleyball at La Salle Academy in Providence. A committed Boston sports fan, Calin enjoys competing in Spartan Races, playing video games, and staying active at the gym. He has also contributed to research featured in the International Journal of Strength and Conditioning.

Clinic Director Dr. Andrew Horton is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and Doctor of Physical Therapy who specializes in orthopedics, spine, and sports-related injuries. His passion is helping patients reach their goals to get back to their sport, hobby, or everyday activity and live their best life. Andrew leads the Highbar Dry Needling certification program and is certified in both Dry Needling Level 1 & 2. He has also earned certifications in Functional Movement System (Levels 1&2), Selective Functional Movement Assessment, and Clinical Integration.
Andrew lives in North Kingstown with his wife, two children, and their therapy dog, Mix. He likes to stay active by playing soccer, exercising, hiking, wake surfing, playing spike ball, and biking. Dr. Jennifer Alves is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who specializes in pelvic health for women. She has been a Registered Massage therapist for over 25 years. She previously worked as a caseworker with teens at risk and has experience working with women with PTSD, EDS, and sexual trauma. She developed a curriculum for self esteem that she taught in a woman's prison and believes in a wholistic approach when treating her patients.

Dr. Dan Folrendo is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who specializes in orthopedics. He loves being a Physical Therapist because he gets to help people feel and move better and enable them to do everything they love!
He received his BA in Human Services and Rehabilitation Studies from Assumption College. He received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

Dr. Avery Carrara PT, DPT received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of New England in 2023 and her Bachelor's in Exercise Physiology from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2020. Avery is set to complete her clinical residency as an orthopedic specialist in 2025.

Meet Nutan Yadav, a highly skilled Physical therapist with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy earned in 2010 and a Master of Physiotherapy obtained in 2013, both from Santosh Medical College in India.
Nutan finds immense fulfillment in her role as a Physical therapist, cherishing the autonomy it provides her as a clinician. The ability to witness the positive impact she can make in her patients' lives by working with them consistently is what motivates her each day.
Fluent in both English and Hindi, Nutan ensures effective communication and connection with her diverse range of patients.
Outside of her professional life, Nutan is a dedicated mother of two children. Her favorite sport is cricket, reflecting her enthusiasm for the game. Natalie Briggs, PT, DPT, PSP is a physical therapist at Highbar Physical Therapy’s Middletown clinic. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, both from Seton Hall University. Natalie is also certified as a Primary Spine Practitioner through the University of Pittsburgh and is a member of the North American Spine Society (NASS).

Dr. Brittany Polk PT, DPT is a passionate physical therapist based at the Pawtucket clinic, specializing in orthopedics, sports injuries, headaches, vestibular rehabilitation, and neuro/concussion care. She earned her Bachelor's of Science in Biology from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 2020 and her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2023. Dr. Polk is LSVT BIG certified and has a special interest in working with neurological populations, with an eventual goal of earning her Neurologic Clinical Specialist (NCS) certification. She is an active member of the APTA.

Rovena is a highly qualified physical therapist with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Luigj Gurakuqi University in Shkoder, Albania (2011) and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Tirana-School of Medicine, Tirana, Albania (2014). With a deep passion for helping people live healthier lives, Rovena has specialized in treating musculoskeletal disorders and pelvic girdle and spine conditions. In 2014, Rovena completed a certification in Diseases of the Pelvic Girdle and Spine at the 58th National Congress of the Italian Sports Medicine Association, and in 2012, another in Classification and Mechanical Control of Musculoskeletal Disorders at Oppera Madonnina Del Grappa, Albania.
In addition to clinical work, Rovena has been active in sharing their knowledge and skills with the professional community, including presenting on Evaluative Measures for the Upper Limbs at the First Congress of PT in Tirana, Albania in 2012. Clinic Director Dr. Michelle Fuleky PT, DPT, OCS is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist who specializes in orthopedics, spine, sports-related injuries, pelvic health, and women’s health. She enjoys treating each patient as a whole to assess how their body moves and how they can achieve their health and wellness goals in their entirety.
She has authored and presented on several topics including ACL reconstruction and rehabilitation for hip pathologies. She has also contributed to the physical therapy protocol for conservative treatment of femoral acetabular impingement and developed a test to determine if an athlete is ready to return to sports after knee surgery.
Michelle resides in East Greenwich with her husband, Norm, and their dog, Cole. When she’s not in the clinic, you can usually find her hiking, spending time with her friends and family, and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes. Director of Pediatrics, Dr. Sarah Goldstein, is a Board-Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist and a Doctor of Physical Therapy who specializes in pediatric physical therapy care and orthopedics. Her diagnoses of expertise include torticollis, plagiocephaly, cerebral palsy, scoliosis, gross motor delay, and developmental delay. She has been caring for pediatric patients since graduating in 2017 and refers to them all as "her kids".
She loves working as a physical therapist because she can positively impact someone’s quality of life, whether that be within the home, in recreation, or at work. Dr. Sarah participated in ballet her whole life, retiring finally in 2023, and loves to work with the dance population to ensure safety with participation and show-readiness. Meet Camden Marcotte, PT, DPT, NCS, OCS, a Doctor of Physical Therapy known for his commitment to guiding individuals through their rehabilitation journeys. Holding a Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from MCPHS University, Marcotte boasts dual certifications in Neurologic and Orthopaedic Physical Therapy. His diverse expertise includes certifications as a Blood Flow Restriction Rehabilitation provider, an ImPACT Trained Physical Therapist, and proficiency in whole-body dry needling. As a clinical instructor, he has mentored five Physical Therapy students, emphasizing his dedication to education and mentorship. Marcotte derives great fulfillment from contributing to patients' recovery stories, whether it involves post-stroke mobility or returning to sports and daily activities after surgery.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Camden Marcotte is a multilingual individual currently learning Portuguese and Spanish. Hannah Martin is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) at Highbar Physical Therapy’s East Providence clinic. She earned her Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistance from Central Penn College in 2019 and specializes in supporting pelvic health and pregnancy. Hannah is a member of the Rhode Island American Physical Therapy Association (RIAPTA).
Hannah is passionate about helping patients improve their daily lives. She finds learning about the body and its changes through injury and recovery fascinating, and she particularly enjoys supporting women in need of pelvic floor therapy and athletes eager to return to their sport. Outside of work, Hannah is a self-described foodie who loves cooking, trying new restaurants, and weightlifting. She has been happily married for four years and shares her home with her husband and their two cats. When not in the kitchen or the gym, Hannah can often be found running or reading.

Martha Ragsdale is a dedicated physical therapist with a passion for empowering individuals to optimize their physical potential. They earned their Bachelor of Arts degree from Colgate University in 1984, followed by a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Pacific University in 2008.
Martha remains committed to providing exceptional care and support to her patients, finding great joy in helping others achieve their wellness goals. Dr. Kara Chace is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who specializes in orthopedics, sports-related injuries, women’s health, concussions, dry needling, and balance & falls. She also serves as a Regional Director for Highbar. Kara loves meeting new people and helping them to reach their goals, whether that be to get back to work or enjoy life pain-free. Throughout her career, she has gained certifications in functional dry needling and hippotherapy, which is the use of horseback riding as a therapeutic or rehabilitative treatment, especially as a means of improving coordination, balance, and strength.
She has previously volunteered at Greenlock Therapeutic Riding and is actively involved in community programs that support our youth including K-Rob and the RI Special Olympics. Dr. Chace also volunteers as a project advisor at Barrington High School and North Smithfield High School.
When she’s not in the clinic, Kara likes to spend time with her family and go to sporting and concert events. She keeps active by hiking, skiing, swimming, playing soccer, and biking.

Dr. Matthew Salvatore is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who specializes in orthopedics, sports injuries, and balance & falls. He is passionate about helping his patients get back to the activities that are important to them and finds it deeply rewarding to watch them become more physically and mentally resilient throughout their treatment.
In his free time, Matthew likes to stay active by hiking, walking, basketball, and golf. As a fan of the Celtics and Patriots, you can usually catch him watching the games with some good food and his friends and family.

Dr. Patrick Motel is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who specializes in orthopedics, the spine, sports-related injuries, headaches, and balance & falls. He is passionate about educating patients on the importance of movement and exercise and how it relates to their overall health. Patrick values his time with patients as he can empower them to care for themselves and problem-solve so they can continue to progress even after they finish physical therapy. He’s earned numerous certifications including dry needling, blood flow restriction training, Selective Functional Movement Assessment, and Titleist Performance Level 1.
In his free time, Patrick enjoys hiking the 48 (4,000 ft) mountains in New Hampshire and kayaking in both rivers and oceans. Always accompanied by his dog, Quinn, he loves talking about philosophy and Lord of the Rings, but always wants to learn the latest bit of trivia knowledge. He’s always on the lookout for a new place for good pizza and tacos, so let him know what your favorite spot is!

Jason Gonsalves is a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant who thrives on helping people feel better. His own experience with physical therapy for his Achilles tendons in seventh grade has given him a unique perspective as a patient, allowing him to connect with those he helps on a personal level. Jason values being a supportive presence for his patients, fostering friendships while ensuring they feel heard and understood. With a deep interest in the human body and its functions, Jason is passionate about learning and applying this knowledge in his practice.
Outside of work, Jason enjoys spending time with his three nephews and hanging out with friends. He recently took up golf and loves the game, even if he’s still honing his skills. A devoted fan of all Boston sports teams, especially the Celtics, he could talk about sports for hours!

Dr. Kevin Alexander is a Clinic Director at our North Kingstown clinic, a Doctor of Physical Therapy, and a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. In addition, Kevin completed a post-graduate residency program in orthopedics and manual therapy. He currently serves as a Faculty Member for the Highbar Orthopedic Residency program.
A competitive track and field athlete right through college, Kevin suffered several injuries throughout his life. His own personal experience with physical therapy is what inspired him to pursue his career in the field. In addition to an athlete and an expert physical therapist, Kevin is a teacher. He has been instrumental in the development of many continuing education courses as well as mentoring and teaching both students and fellow physical therapists.
Kevin grew up and continues to live in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. He has a passion for golf and semi-annually volunteers at the Full Swing Golf RI, an event founded by his wife, teaching children with physical disabilities how to enjoy and play the sport of golf. In addition to golf Kevin enjoys snowboarding, lifting at the gym, landscaping, cooking and - of course - running. From a middle school cross country runner to a track and field college athlete Kevin now enjoys participating in road races with friends.

Amanda Moran ATC, LMT is a Certified Athletic Trainer who works with East Providence High School and our East Providence clinic. During high school, she fractured her ankle playing softball. This piqued her interest in the field of rehabilitation, which led her to a career in athletic training. She loves helping athletes go from a very low point to then regaining their strength and returning back to their sport.
Amanda also helped the East Providence High School receive the 1st team Safe School Sport award (May 2016-2019). Most recently, she completed the Highbar Lead the Way program.
In her free time, Amanda likes cooking new recipes, reading, and biking. For over 10 years she has participated in the MS 150 Bike Ride, raising money for multiple sclerosis.

Dr. David Pavao is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who specializes in manual therapy, acute and chronic spine pain, headaches, sports injuries, TMJ, and vertigo. He is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and serves as Highbar's Chief Clinical Officer. In his role as Clinical Officer, Dave oversees the professional development of clinical staff, which includes the Highbar Student Curriculum, the Mentoring for Highbar onboarding program, and the Highbar Orthopedic Residency, as well as in-house continuing education to ensure our clinical team and patients have an exceptional experience at Highbar.
He is currently an adjunct professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at his alma mater, where he earned the Academic Excellence Award as a student and the Outstanding Alumni Award in 2013. Dave also serves on the Legislative Committee of the Rhode Island American Physical Therapy Association.
When Dave isn’t treating patients or ensuring that all clinical staff at Highbar are staying up to date on current clinical standards, he loves spending time with his wife Michelle and his 2 children, Aiden and Grace. He likes to stay active by playing soccer and tennis and coaching Aidan's soccer team.

Carrie Knickerbocker is a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant at the South Kingstown clinic, specializing in orthopedics, and pelvic health. Dr. Heather Fontaine is a physical therapist who graduated from Springfield College in 2024. She grew up in Brimfield, MA where she first found her passion for physical therapy attending many appointments in the hospital, outpatient, and home care settings with her mom, Paula. She is dedicated to helping patients return to their prior level of function and beyond, while giving them the tools to live a balanced and healthy lifestyle. When she is not in the clinic, you will probably see Heather running around Aquidneck Island preparing for road races anywhere from 5Ks to the marathon.

Dr. Reid Holden is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who specializes in orthopedics, sports-related injuries, hockey, football, lacrosse, baseball, and rugby. After playing sports his entire life, Reid attended physical therapy to get him back on the field after some major injuries. His personal experiences at physical therapy and his love for working with people motivated him to become a physical therapist to help people do what they love.
While earning his degree, Dr. Holden provided free physical therapy services to the greater New Haven area. Through his time treating, he gained a true passion for sports rehabilitation and orthopedics. He is now an adjunct lab professor for orthopedics at Bryant University.
In his free time, Dr. Holden plays in local men's hockey leagues and loves spending his spare time hiking or relaxing at the lake.

Dr. Hargun Khanna, PT, DPT is a skilled physical therapist at Highbar’s Pawtucket clinic, specializing in orthopedics and treating balance issues, as well as injuries to the low back, knee, hip, shoulder, and elbow.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from UMass Amherst in 2018 and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in 2023. Dr. Khanna is a member of the Massachusetts APTA and was honored with the Mary Mankin Clinical Scholar Award in 2023. Her research includes co-authoring a comprehensive meta-analysis on cardiac rehabilitation in people with heart failure.
Dr. Khanna speaks Hindi and Punjabi. Outside of work, she enjoys singing karaoke, making pottery, and taking her dog to the beach.
