Reach Out and Read Rhode Island is a research-supported program that provides children with books during pediatric checkups so that families can read to their children at home. There are a number of reasons why reading is good for a child, and their family's, wellbeing!
"Reach Out and Read Rhode Island is a nonprofit that champions the positive effects of reading daily and engaging in other language-rich activities with young children. Reading together promotes healthy brain development, furthers language acquisition, and helps families build meaningful bonds."
